Hoffman, George N.

He used his business, Hoffman Distributing Company to sponsor softball teams from 1960 through 1992. He has sponsored teams based out of Bardstown, Springfield, Lebanon, New Hope, Loreto, Holy Cross, Fredericktown, Culvertown, Mount Washington, and New Haven. He typically has sponsored 8 to 10 teams each season throughout that area of the state.

-Washington County Merchants - ASA'A'State Champions

-South Dixie/Miller Lite - ASA 'A' State Champions

-Mt. Washington/Miller - 'A' State participant

-New Haven/Miller - 'B' State participant

-Johnsons/Miller Lite - 'C' state participant

-New Haven/Sterling - 35 & Over/'C' State Participant

-Loreto/Sterling

-Calvary/Sterling

-Bardstown/Sterling

He has also sponsored bowling, baseball, volleyball, and basketball teams. He sponsors the Elizabethtown Charity Tournament for Scholarships. He is renowned throughout that part of Kentucky as a supporter of softball-all softball- men. women, and youth. He has been acknowledged by both past and present District Commissioners in that area as the individual most responsible for the welfare and promotion of softball in that part of the state.
