Known as “Cool Hand Luke”, she began playing organized softball at age eighteen. Teams she played on participated in nine National Championship Tournaments placing Second Once, Fourth twice, and Eighth once.

Her teams won numerous City League titles, Regional & State Championships, as well as many invitational championships while traveling across the country. She carried a lifetime batting average in excess of .400 and hit over .500 one season.

During her career, she was named 1st team All- American once, Most Valuable Player ten times, and placed on the All-Tournament team twenty-four times.

She retired from play in 1986 and participated in Lexington’s first Old Timers game in 1990.
