Tom Lowe was known in Central Kentucky as a top notch pitcher, a consistent hitter, and could hit a long ball. Tom's career spanned 27 years (1938-1965) of active participation in fast pitch softball.
His ball career started with Bell County High School in 1938, at age 16, and ended with Stanford Ball Club at age 43.
He pitched 586 games in regular season and tournament play--winning 500 and losing 86, 12 no hit games, and 4 perfect games. In addition to the above numbers, he played many more game for which records were not available.
Tom was in war service for 4 years from 1942-1945. He pitched 4 years for Bell County High School and Pineville, 5 years for Perryville, 4 years for Junction City, and 11 years for Stanford.
Tom Lowe had the respect of players, coaches, fans, and umpires. He never complained if the umpire made a bad call and was always a gentleman on the field and off the field-- a credit to softball.
