Cleston Taylor of Brodhead, Kentucky has supported and coached a men's softball team since 1965. Twenty-three years of continuous sponsorship is the longest in Kentucky. The original name of the team was "Waterdogs" but Saylor's Pharmacy was added in 1977.

Mr. Saylor retired in May 1987 after a teaching career of forty-six years at various levels. He coached three sports in high school for 8 years. His current occupation is farming. Mr. Saylor is an outstanding gentleman, never complaining and always coached a well-disciplined team.

Mr. Saylor invested many thousand dollars sponsoring this team, but he has received much pleasure in return. During this span of years, the "Waterdogs" have won 1304 games and lost 523. They have won more than 60 tournaments and placed in nearly 200. the "Waterdogs" have played in state tournaments 9 years in either class "A" or class "AA". His teams won many more games than they lost at the state tournament level.

He plans to sponsor and coach the "Waterdogs" until they have played in their 2,000th game which will evolve the season of 1988.

During this span of years, Mr. Saylor is truly grateful to the one hundred thirty boys who have played for him and he especially points out one player, Donnie Ray Moberly, who is the only player who began playing for the "Waterdogs" when they were first organized.
