GAYLE PITCHED FIVE GAMES IN THE 1960 DISTRICT TOURNAMENT AND DID NOT GIVE UP A RUN. HE PITCHED IN NINE NATIONAL REGIONAL TOURNAMENTS AND PITCHED ONE NO-HITTER AMONG HIS SEVERAL WINS. HE HAS BEEN HONORED WITH MANY MVP AWARDS AND ELECTED ON SEVERAL ALL-STAR TEAMS. GAYLE WAS ALWAYS A GENTLEMAN ON THE FIELD AND A CREDIT TO SOFTBALL. THIS AWARD IS IN RECOGNITION OF OUTSTANDING ABILITY DEMONSTRATED IN FASTPITCH SOFTBALL COMPETITION.
