PEGGY BALL BEGAN HER COACHING IN 1965. HER FIRST YEARS WERE INVOLVED WITH T-BALL AND GIRLS PONYTAIL SOFTBALL TEAMS.

IN 1976, PEGGY’S 13-16 YEAR OLD GIRL’S TEAM WAS RUNNER-UP IN THE STATE. IN 1977, THE TEAM WON THE LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP, STATE TOURNAMENT, AND COMPETED IN THE NATIONAL TOURNAMENT. IN 1978, HER TEAM MOVED UP TO THE WOMEN’S “A” LEAGUE AND WERE WINNERS OF THE CITY, STATE, AND NATIONAL REGIONAL TOURNAMENTS, AND PLACED SIXTH IN THE NATION OUT OF 43 TEAMS. THE FOLLOWING YEAR 1979, THE GIRLS WERE AGAIN STATE CHAMPIONS AND PLACED IN THE SEMIFINALS OF THE NATIONAL REGIONAL.

THE TEAMS THAT PEGGY COACHED WERE ALWAYS NOTED FOR THEIR OUTSTANDING CHARACTER AND WERE WINNERS OF SEVERAL BEST SPORTSMANSHIP AWARDS. SHE HAD VERY GOOD SUPPORT WITH THE YOUNG KIDS AND WAS VERY INSTRUMENTAL IN THEIR DEVELOPMENT, BOTH ON AND OFF THE BALL FIELD.
