OMER’S PITCHING CAREER STARTED AT AGE 10, AND OVER THE NEXT 25 YEARS, HE WAS CONSIDERED ONE OF KENTUCKY’S FINEST. OMER THREW MANY NO- HITTERS AND WAS VOTED TO SEVERAL ALL –STAR TEAMS.

OMAR’S ACCOMPLISHMENTS INCLUDE:

-1935-LEXINGTON GREENTREE FARM-STATE RUNNER-UP

-1936-LEXINGTON GREENTREE FARM-STATE CHAMPIONS

-1937-LEXINGTON GREENTREE FARM-STATE RUNNER-UP

-1938-VOTED PLAYER OF THE YEAR BY THE LEXINGTON SOFTBALL ASSOCIATION

-1940-LOUISVILLE KEN-MACS-STATE CHAMPIONS

OMER PITCHED IN NATIONAL TOURNAMENTS IN 1936 & 1940. ENTERING INTO THE FINALS OF THE 1940 STATE CHAMPIONSHIP, HE HAD A RECORD OF 104 CONSECUTIVE SCORELESS INNINGS. THIS FEAT WAS RECOGNIZED NATIONALLY THRU “RIPLEY’S BELIEVE IT OR NOT”.
