GENE MOSLEY HAS ENJOYED A 42-YEAR SOFTBALL CAREER. HE STARTED PLAYING BOTH FASTPITCH AND SLOW PITCH SOFTBALL IN 1947 IN THE CINCINNATI- NORTHERN KENTUCKY AREA AND PLAYED IN OVER 14 STATE TOURNAMENTS, 3 NATIONAL REGIONALS, AND 3 NATIONAL TOURNAMENTS. HIS TEAM WAS STATE CHAMPIONS IN 1969 AND 1974 AND PLAYED IN MAJOR TOURNAMENTS IN OVER 25 STATES.

HOWEVER, HIS GREATEST SERVICE TO SOFTBALL HAS BEEN AS AN UMPIRE. SINCE 1972, GENE HAS UMPIRED IN 29 STATE TOURNAMENTS, 3 K..A.C. WOMEN'S COLLEGE CHAMPIONSHIPS, 11 LAKE CUMBERLAND CLASSIC TOURNAMENTS, KENTUCKY HIGH SCHOOL TOURNAMENTS, AND 3 NATIONAL TOURNAMENTS.

HE IS A GRADUATE OF THE NATIONAL UMPIRE SCHOOL AND WAS DEPUTY UMPIRE-IN-CHIEF FOR 8 YEARS, BEING NAMED THE STATE UMPIRE-IN-CHIEF IN FEBRUARY 1989. GENE IS VERY DEDICATED TO THE GAME OF SOFTBALL AND HAS DEVOTED COUNTLESS HOURS OF LABOR TO THE SPORT. HE IS VERY WORTHY OF THIS AWARD.
