KENTUCKY SOFTBALL HALL OF FAME

Thompson, Steve

Inducted: 2009

Thompson, Steve

Springfield, Kentucky

Steve Thompson planted his feet on the softball field at a very young age. His passion for the game continued to grow, and if he was not on the field playing, he was keeping scorebook just to be at the park. He had made a commitment to the game.

Through his hard work, he earned a position on several highly respected teams including the Washington County Merchants and Reece Monument. He played in most of the more highly regarded tournaments in the state: the Lake Cumberland Classic, H&W Classic, L. I.T., and the Scott Rose Games. Teams he played for were State Champions in 1988, ’89, ’90, ’95 and ’96. He was a member of the ’95 N.S.A. World Champions and the ’96 A.S.A National Champions.

After 25 years of play, Steve retired and turned his attendance to coaching children, teaching the same fundamentals of the game and good sportsmanship that made him so valuable to his teams.

We are proud and privileged to be able to induct Steve Thompson into the Kentucky Softball Hall of Fame & Honor.
