She began playing competitive softball in 1972 and played for twenty-one years. Due to her outstanding abilities and desire, she was able to play many different positions and play them well. She was one of the state’s best pitchers but was also a great infielder and outfielder.

She played on:

-Teams that won four state championships

-Teams that five times finished state runners-up

-Teams that participated in nine Midwest Regionals—four of which won championships and three which finished runners up

-Teams that participated in seven nationals of which four of them finished in the top ten

She was twice named All-American; five times named MVP, with two of those coming in state tournament play; and was thrice named All-State and All-Tournament. She also umpired in ASA league and tournament play. She was a great role model due to her even temper and her desire to win as a true team member.
